Engagement Session with the Association of Churches in Sarawak
20.02.2025 The Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) held an engagement session with the Heads of Churches from the Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS) this morning at Hilton Hotel Kuching. Also in attendance were Mr Arthur Lee Cheng Chuan of Arthur Lee, Lin & Co Advocates and Mr John Ko Wai Seng of Battenberg & Talma Advocates, who provided pro bono legal advice on points of law.
This five-hour session, running from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, follows a previous engagement with the Association of Churches, which took place on 27 August 2024 at the Christian Ecumenical Centre. It reaffirms UNIFOR’s commitment to continuous dialogue and collaboration in addressing matters of mutual interest.
The primary objective of today’s session was to provide key updates and further strengthen the working relationship between UNIFOR and the Association of Churches. UNIFOR also took this opportunity to reaffirm its dedication to supporting interfaith communities, aligning with Sarawak’s policy of inclusivity and respect for all faiths.
The open and constructive discussions reflected a shared commitment to fostering a peaceful and cooperative religious landscape in the state. It was indeed a meaningful and engaging session, embodying the spirit of unity and collaboration.
