YBhg. Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau was in attendance at the official cheque handing over ceremony from PETROS to the Sarawak UNIFOR Charitable Trust (SUCT). The cheque was presented by Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. Hamid Bugo on behalf of PETROS and received by YB Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and YB Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian on behalf of SUCT. 

YBhg. Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau attended the ceremony in dual capacity as the Director of UNIFOR and a member of the Board of Trustees for SUCT.

YBhg. Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau, accompanied by religious leaders, interfaith representatives, and UNIFOR staff, attended the vibrant Vaisakhi dinner celebration, graced by YB Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak III and Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government. 

The event was thoughtfully organised by the Sarawak Sikh Temple Association, under the leadership of its President, YBhg. Dato Dr Khalwinder Singh Khaira. 

Vaisakhi is a significant festival for Sikhs, marking both the Sikh New Year and the historical formation of the Khalsa in 1699. It falls on the first day of the month of Vaisakh, typically on April 13 or 14. 

The celebration begins at the Gurdwara Sahib, the Sikh place of worship, which is adorned beautifully for the occasion. Religious services take place in gurdwaras worldwide, fostering a deep sense of devotion and community. 

Beyond its spiritual significance, Vaisakhi also symbolises the start of the harvest season which is a joyous occasion for farmers and workers as they celebrate the fruits of their labor. The festival is marked by vibrant traditions, including the energetic folk dance known as Bhangra, performed in brightly colored attire to the rhythmic beats of the dhol drum, adding an uplifting spirit to the celebration.

In recognition of this important festival, UNIFOR extended financial support for food and beverages during the Vaisakhi Dinner celebration. 

Staying true to its commitment to inclusivity, UNIFOR also provides similar financial assistance to various religious communities, including Christian, Taoist, Baha'i, Hindu, and Buddhist groups, for their respective festivals.

YBhg. Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau, accompanied by heads of other religions, representatives from interfaith groups, and UNIFOR staff, attended a significant Wesak Day celebration graced by YB Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier Sarawak III,  Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government. This Wesak Day celebration was organised by the Malaysian Buddhist Association Sarawak Branch headed by Chairman, YBhg. Datuk Tay Chin Kin, at the Sarawak Buddhist Association this morning.
 
Wesak Day is a sacred occasion that commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha. On this special day, Buddhists visit temples for prayer, offer alms to monks, light candles and incense, and engage in charitable acts. They also participated in the bathing of the Buddha ceremony - a ritual where devotees symbolically bathe the infant Buddha statue with fragrant water. The celebration highlights the Buddha's teachings, encouraging followers to foster kindness in their everyday lives.

UNIFOR extends financial support for  food and beverages in conjunction with this Wesak Day Celebration. In keeping with its commitment to inclusivity, similar financial assistance is also provided to other religious communities—including Christian, Taoist, Baha'i, Hindu and Sikh for their respective festivals.

Program ini telah melibatkan penyertaan kakitangan UNIFOR dalam pelbagai pengisian bermanfaat seperti saringan kesihatan, aktiviti zumba, taklimat berkaitan obesiti dan mindfulness, serta penerangan mengenai kemudahan perubatan dan perlindungan insurans bagi penjawat awam Negeri Sarawak.

Usaha ini mencerminkan komitmen UNIFOR dalam memupuk kesedaran dan amalan gaya hidup sihat sebagai asas kepada kesejahteraan berpanjangan.

Terima Kasih Tuan Stenlee Anak Kunchet di atas sumbangan, dedikasi kepada kerja dan aura positif yang diberikan sepanjang perkhidmatan beliau di UNIFOR.

Encik Stenlee Kunchet merupakan Pegawai Tadbir, Gred N10 dan juga merupakan Ketua Penolong pengarah Bahagian Teknologi Maklumat di UNIFOR. Beliau mula berkhidmat di UNIFOR selama 8 tahun iaitu bermula dari 19 Mei 2017 sehingga 6 Mei 2025 dan beliau merupakan antara pegawai paling pioneer di UNIFOR. Pada 7 Mei 2025, beliau akan berpindah ke Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Pembangunan Bandar ( Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development-MUDeRN).

Selamat Maju Jaya Tuan Stenlee Kunchet. Jasa dan kenangan manis sepanjang  tuan berkhidmat di UNIFOR akan dikenang selalu.

Mesyuarat Berhubung dengan Rayuan Permohonan Pertapakan Bagi Membina Gereja BEM Bandar Bintulu (Bahasa Kayan) ini telah dipengerusikan oleh YBhg. Datu Buckland Anak Bangik, Timbalan Setiausaha Kerajaan Sarawak (Pentadbiran).

Tujuan mesyuarat ini diadakan adalah untuk membincangkan cara bagi membantu pihak Gereja BEM Bandar Bintulu (Bahasa Kayan) ini dalam urusan permohonan pertapakan mereka bagi membina gereja Baharu mereka.

Turut hadir bersama semasa mesyuarat ini ialah YBhg. Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau, Pengarah Unit Hal Ehwal Agama-Agama Lain, Reverend Bina Agong, President BEM Sarawak, dan Barisan pemimpin BEM Bandar Bintulu (Bahasa Kayan), Encik Sylvester Ogang, wakil daripada Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pembangunan Bandar dan Sumber Asli, Encik Thaddeus Anak Udek, wakil daripada Lembaga Kemajuan Bintulu (BDA) dan Encik Mohammad Sedek wakil daripada Jabatan Tanah dan Survei Bahagian Bintulu.
