Perintah Besai Merambu Sarawak Nyadi Hab Industri 'Aerospace'

KUCHING: Perintah Besai merambu deka ngaga Sarawak nyadi hab ngagai industri 'aerospace' menua tu. Menteri Pemeranak Puku, Dagang enggau Industri, Senator Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz madah, Sarawak ngembuan pengelebih ngemansangka industri nya lebih agi bepun ari pemeras ngadaka orang gawa bepengelandik ba pengawa nya. "Kitai mega meda industri 'aerospace' deka muka awak ngagai industri ngatur enggau ngadu (MRO) kelimpah sektor kilang laban 'aerospace' tu begunaka kompeni ti bisi kaul enggau sektor kilang," pia ku iya. Sarawak Kekal Jadi Destinasi Pelaburan, Jumlah Pelaburan Diluluskan Cecah RM10.4 Bilion Setakat Jun 2024

KUCHING: Sarawak terus kekal menjadi destinasi pelaburan utama dengan jumlah pelaburan yang diluluskan sebanyak RM10.4 bilion setakat Jun 2024.   Timbalan Premier Sarawak, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan berkata, jumlah pelaburan yang diluluskan itu adalah termasuk yang di bawah Jawatankuasa Pelaksanaan dan Penyelarasan (ICC).   Menurut beliau, daripada jumlah pelaburan yang diluluskan itu, ia membabitkan RM 5.7 bilion dengan pelaburan langsung asing (FDI) dan RM4.7 bilion dengan pelaburan langsung domestik (DDI).   “Terdapat juga pelabur asing yang telah menunjukkan minat untuk melabur dalam Sarawak di mana siri pertemuan dengan pelabur dan pihak berkepentingan telah diadakan.   “Nilai pelaburan yang berpotensi ini nilai mencecah RM117.4 bilion,” katanya semasa sidang media Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Bersama Penyelarasan Industri (JBI) Sarawak, di sini pada Isnin.   Hadir sama, Menteri Pelaburan, Perdagangan dan Industri, Senator Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.   Dalam pada itu, beliau yang juga Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa, Industri dan Pelaburan Sarawak   turut mengusulkan cadangan supaya Pelabuhan Senari Kuching dan Miri dijadikan zon perdagangan bebas cukai.   "Kita (Kerajaan Sarawak) sudah mencadang usul zon bebas dan saya amat berterima kasih kepada Kerajaan Persekutuan menerusi Kementerian Pelaburan, Perdagangan dan Industri (MITI) kerana memberikan respons yang positif.   "Kita tumpukan perhatian kepada dua pelabuhan ini dahulu iaitu Pelabuhan Senari dan Pelabuhan Miri kerana memang wujud keperluan yang sama seperti di Pelabuhan Bintulu dan Pelabuhan Samalaju," tambah beliau.-EDISI UKAS

Sarawak Records RM10.4 Billion Total Approved Investment As Of June 2024

KUCHING: Sarawak remains an attractive and preferred investment destination with an approved investment value totalling RM10.4 billion as of June 2024. According to Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, the total approved investment included those approved by the Industrial Coordination Committee (ICC).  He said from the total value of approved investment, foreign direct investment amounted to RM5.7 billion while domestic direct investment was worth RM4.7 billion. “There are also foreign investors who have shown interest in investing in Sarawak where a series of meetings with investors and stakeholders have been held.  “These potential investment values are expected to reach RM117.4 billion,” he said. He said this in a press conference in conjunction with the Joint Committee on Industry Coordination (JBI) Meeting which he co-chaired together with the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz here, on Monday. Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah who is also the Sarawak Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment proposed for the Senari Port and Miri Port to be designated as free trade zones. “We (the Sarawak government) have already proposed the free zone initiatives, and I am very grateful to the Federal government through the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) for their positive response. “We are focusing on these two ports first, namely Senari Port and Miri Port, because there is a similar need as at Bintulu Port and Samalaju Port,” he added. -UKASnews

Federal Government Proposes Sarawak As Aerospace Industry Hub

KUCHING: The Federal government plans to make Sarawak a hub for the country's aerospace industry. Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Senator Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said, Sarawak has great potential in the industry, especially in the commitment to produce skilled workers in the field. "Sarawak has previously made an announcement to produce talents in Sarawak universities that focus on the aerospace industry. "So, we think that there will be talent (in the aerospace industry), and also, Sarawak geographically close to Nusantara (the capital of Indonesia), Korea, Japan and Australia,” he said. He said this in a press conference after the Joint Committee on Industry Coordination (JBI) meeting which he co-chaired with the Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan here, on Monday. Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul added that the proposal to develop a new international airport in Kuching as well as the establishment of a Sarawak-owned airline are also seen to help the development of the aerospace industry in this Land of the Hornbills. He said his ministry through the National Aerospace Industry Corporation (NAICO) Malaysia will also work with Sarawak in achieving the industry's development agenda. "We also see that the aerospace industry will be able to open up opportunities in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector as well as in terms of the manufacturing sector because aerospace requires companies to be involved in the manufacturing sector," he said. Cultural Diversity Allows Sarawakians To Celebrate Various Festivals Together

MUKAH: Sarawak, with its diverse ethnicities and religions, offers its people the opportunity to celebrate a variety of festivals together. Tellian Assemblyman, Royston Valentine stated that throughout the year, various celebrations are observed, one of which is from the Chinese community. “We also have the opportunity to celebrate the Lantern Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and others besides Chinese New Year, demonstrating the unique festivals of the Chinese community, which we also have the chance to celebrate together,” he said. He said this during the 2024 Torch Relay organised by the Mukah Division Federation of Chinese Association in conjunction with the 39th National Chinese Cultural Festival held at Kingwood Resort Mukah on Saturday. Royston explained that by celebrating such festivals together, the unity spirit can be strengthened to ensure peace and harmony are always maintained. Additionally, he emphasised that he would continue to support the Chinese community just as they support the programmes implemented by the government. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Organising Committee, Penghulu Henry Lee Liong Ing said this cultural festival aims to promote and preserve the Chinese community’s culture. “Every edition of the festival is a cultural celebration and an opportunity to showcase the beauty of Chinese culture to the world. “As the fourth station of this Torch Relay, Mukah shows that we have a deep cultural heritage and rich history,” he said. Therefore, he also hopes that through such programmes, cultural heritage can be protected and passed on, with more active participation in cultural exchanges. Meanwhile. the event also witnessed the handover of the torch to the Kapit division as the fifth station, with the programme expected to conclude in Kuching this September 15. Earlier in the morning, 17 contingents, with an estimated 500 participants, participated in the torch relay. Sarawak Eyes Para SUKMA XXI Championship 

LABUAN: The Sarawak contingent is fully prepared to face the 21st Para Malaysia Games (Para SUKMA XXI) Sarawak 2024 which will take place from September 22 to 28. Sarawak Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development who is also Head of the Sarawak Contingent, Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam said as the host, Sarawak sets a target of 83 gold medals to win in order to wrest the championship back from Sabah. "We hope that all our athletes will take advantage of this opportunity as host for the Para SUKMA XXI. "All our athletes need to show high sportsmanship and take care of their health for us to reach the target of 83 gold medals. "The important thing is that we want to reclaim the championship that we have held 13 times in a row," he said when interviewed by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) while leading a delegation of the Sarawak contingent to invite the Federal Territory of Labuan Contingent to join the Para SUKMA XXI at Tiara Labuan Hotel, on Monday . According to him, the Para SUKMA Sarawak contingent will place high hopes in athletics, swimming and tenpin bowling events to contribute many gold medals this time while also targeting other sports for medals. To strengthen the athletes' preparation, Sarawak also sent its boccia athletes to train in Taiwan while lawn bowl athletes are training in Johor Bahru. He added, all the athletes will do centralised training from August 1 in Kuching to strengthen the preparations before the start of the actual games next month. "We are still continuing the training of our athletes and so far they are training five days a week," he said. Also present were Permanent Secretary to the Sarawak Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datu Felicia Tan Ya Hua, Director of the Sarawak Social Welfare Department, Semawi Mohamad, Director of the Labuan Youth and Sports Department, Mahanum Fauzi, and other distinguished guests. Masjid Jamek To Get A New Look, Sarawak Premier Launches New Minaret Model

KUCHING: The Sarawak State Mosque, also known as Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak is set for a transformation with the launch of a new minaret model, officiated by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, on Friday. The launch took place at the Anjung Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak during the ceremony, themed 'Tracing the Glory of the Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS).' The project, expected to commence in early 2025, will feature four main minarets each 75 meters high, and two smaller minarets each 65 meters high. These minarets will be based on green energy concepts, equipped with solar panels and energy-efficient lights. Additionally, at the ceremony, LAKMNS unveiled a book titled "Tracing the Glory."  The book details the establishment and development of mosques under LAKMNS’s management, including the Kuching City Mosque and the Masjid Jamek, as well as LAKMNS’s progress. It also highlights LAKMNS’s transformation and achievements since its inception. Furthermore, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Malaysia, Emir Salim Yuksel, who attended the event, remarked that the new minaret model of the Masjid Jamek bears resemblance to the famous minarets of the Hagia Sophia Mosque in Turkiye. "I was excited to see the model as it resembles the Hagia Sophia Mosque, and it's fascinating that each minaret at Hagia Sophia is slightly different from the others. 古晋:砂拉越公务员必须培育创新文化和创意,以推动州的经济转型。 砂食品工业、原产业及区域发展部长拿督斯里史蒂芬伦迪表示,在部层面实施创新及创意大会将可开展扎实、创新、创造性和前瞻性的工作文化,以提高政府机构的工作质量和向公众提供服务的系统有效性。 他说,该项目是为了认可在实施每个创新及创意项目中表现出承诺和奉献精神的工作人员与机构的贡献和服务。 “事实上,我们必须加快培育创新和创造力,并全面采取更多新想法,以造福全体人民。” 他星期四出席砂食品工业、原产业及区域发展部创新及创意圈大会晚宴及致词时,如是表示。 他希望,本次创新及创意大会的举办能够鼓励官员和其他政府工作人员继续提高生产力及落实高质量的工作。 2024年砂食品工业、原产业及区域发展部创新及创意大会共获得8个组别参与 ,成功晋级的组别将有资格参与砂拉越级公共服务创新大会奖,角逐砂总理威望奖及星级奖殊荣。 较早前,拿督斯里史蒂芬伦迪在活动上颁奖给2024年砂食品工业、原产业及区域发展部创新及创意大会得奖者。 冠军由砂农业局RIMBA组成功夺得,带回总值1500令吉奖金及奖杯与证书。亚军及季军则分别由砂兽医服务局DVETS组及砂土地统一及复兴局(SALCRA)的WHIZZ组夺得,分别带走1300令吉及1000令吉现金奖,以及奖杯与证书。 其他出席嘉宾包括砂副政府秘书(行动)拿督许赞麒代表砂政府秘书拿督阿玛莫哈末阿布巴卡、砂食品工业、原产业及区域发展部副部长(原产业及区域发展)拿督玛丁朋、副部长(食品工业)拿督阿都拉曼依斯迈等。-UKAS刊

Dua Syarikat Turkiye Minat Luas Perniagaan Di Sarawak

  KUCHING: Dua syarikat dari Turkiye berminat untuk meluaskan perniagaan mereka di Sarawak.   Duta Besar Republik Turkiye ke Malaysia, Emir Salim Yuksel berkata, salah sebuah daripada syarikat itu telah pun bertapak di Malaysia.   “Kami telah memperkenalkan dua syarikat penting dari Turki. Salah satunya sudah pun bertapak di Malaysia dan sebuah lagi syarikat juga sedang mencari dan meneroka beberapa cara untuk meningkatkan kerjasama.   “Sebenarnya secara peribadi wawasan Sarawak sangat mengujakan saya kerana terdapat aktiviti ekonomi yang besar dan visi Premier Sarawak sangat menarik,”katanya.   Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas mengadakan kunjungan hormat kepada Premier Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg di pejabatnya, Wisma Bapa Malaysia, di sini pada Jumaat.   Dalam pada itu, beliau juga memberitahu, visi Sarawak dalam membangunkan sumber tenaga hijau, pembangunan teknologi tinggi termaju, infrastruktur, teknologi aeroangkasa dan pendigitalan menarik minat mereka untuk bekerjasama.   “Ini adalah beberapa bidang yang kami kuasai. Two Turkish Companies Show Interest To Expand Business In Sarawak

KUCHING: Two companies from Turkiye are keen to expand their business ventures in Sarawak. The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Malaysia, Emir Salim Yuksel, stated that one of the companies has already established a presence in Malaysia. “We have introduced two major companies from Turkiye. One of them is already established in Malaysia, and the other is exploring ways to enhance cooperation. “Personally, I find Sarawak’s vision very exciting because there are significant economic activities, and the vision of the Sarawak Premier is very compelling,” he said. He said this to reporters after paying a courtesy call on Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg at his office, Wisma Bapa Malaysia, on Friday. Additionally, he mentioned that Sarawak’s vision in developing green energy resources, advanced high-tech development, infrastructure, aerospace technology, and digitalisation, interests them in terms of collaboration. “These are some areas in which we excel. We have companies working towards these goals, and that is why I had this meeting to introduce these two companies to the Sarawak Premier. “We also discussed their capabilities and how we can achieve synergy between our companies and Sarawak’s potential,” he added.
