KUCHING: Two companies from Turkiye are keen to expand their business ventures in Sarawak.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Malaysia, Emir Salim Yuksel, stated that one of the companies has already established a presence in Malaysia.

“We have introduced two major companies from Turkiye. One of them is already established in Malaysia, and the other is exploring ways to enhance cooperation.

“Personally, I find Sarawak’s vision very exciting because there are significant economic activities, and the vision of the Sarawak Premier is very compelling,” he said.

He said this to reporters after paying a courtesy call on Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg at his office, Wisma Bapa Malaysia, on Friday.

Additionally, he mentioned that Sarawak’s vision in developing green energy resources, advanced high-tech development, infrastructure, aerospace technology, and digitalisation, interests them in terms of collaboration.

“These are some areas in which we excel. We have companies working towards these goals, and that is why I had this meeting to introduce these two companies to the Sarawak Premier.

“We also discussed their capabilities and how we can achieve synergy between our companies and Sarawak’s potential,” he added.
