SAINS & MSC Trustgate Ink Strategic MoU At IDECS 2024

KUCHING: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MSC Trustgate during the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak 2024 (IDECS 2024) on Thursday. The MoU was signed by MSC Trustgate’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lo Nyan Tjing, and the CEO of SAINS, Busiai Seman while witnessed by SAINS Chairman, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam. This collaboration aims to strengthen Sarawak’s digital ecosystem by promoting secure digital signatures, data protection, and enhanced cybersecurity services. The partnership aligns with Sarawak’s strategic vision to improve its digital infrastructure, positioning it as a secure hub for digital transactions in Malaysia and beyond. Busiai Seman highlighted the long-term benefits of the collaboration, particularly its role in developing local talent. “The key benefits of this partnership include building local talent in Certificate Authority solutions, providing greater flexibility and options for the future,” he explained. Meanwhile, Lo Nyan stated that the MoU represents a significant milestone for MSC Trustgate and SAINS. “Together, we aim to boost digital trust and security in Sarawak's digital economy, ensuring that businesses and government agencies can operate with confidence in a secure digital environment,” he said. -UKASnews

教育及社会部联邦公务员拜会砂拉越元首

人联党10月19日至20日助申请肯雅兰金卡和乐龄医疗福利

古晋：砂人联党将于10月19日及20日（周六及日）早上9时至下午5时，在党总部礼堂举办肯雅兰金卡和乐龄医疗福利计划的注册活动。 砂人联党峇都林当支部主席薛华东代表砂旅游、创意产业及表演艺术部副部长拿督陈超耀，召开新闻发布会上表示，这项活动是由该党6个支部共同联办。 “这项活动将在人联党总部举行，由我党6个支部，即古晋支部、朋岭支部、峇都林当支部、哥打圣淘沙支部、峇都吉当支部和石角支部共同联办。” 他说，申请者可先查询申请记录及状态。 “如果他们的名字在系统内，他们可以前来要求领金卡。这将为他们节省大量的精力和时间，让他们不必去各部门或各个地方检查肯雅兰金卡的准备情况。” 薛华东也鼓励，欲申请的民众可在活动开始前先通过网站（ www.1supp.org.my ）上网申请肯雅兰金卡。 “一旦申请成功者，将可获得今年500令吉的医疗援助福利。” 他也解释说，这项申请乃开放给所有乐龄人士，且不限数量。 同时，60岁或以上，收入在7000令吉或以下，并持有K身份身份证或红色身份证的乐龄人士受促踊跃申请。-UKAS刊

21 Penerima Di DUN Kedup Terima MRP Berjumlah RM232,000

SERIAN: Serama 21 penerima di bawah konstituensi Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kedup menerima dana Projek Kecil Luar Bandar (MRP) dengan nilai keseluruhan sebanyak RM232,000. Penyerahan dana pada Khamis itu disempurnakan oleh Timbalan Menteri Industri Makanan, Komoditi dan Pembangunan Wilayah Sarawak, Datuk Martin Ben. Antara penerima termasuklah Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru (PIBG) sekolah-sekolah di kawasan Kedup, kelab dan persatuan, Pejabat Kerajaan, Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampung (JKKK), gereja dan Biro Wanita. Dalam ucapan ringkasnya, Datuk Martin yang juga Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Kedup menasihati para penerima agar menggunakan dana yang diberikan sebaik dan setelus yang mungkin untuk mengelakkan berlakunya masalah-masalah lain di kemudian hari. Dalam kesempatan itu juga, beliau turut menyampaikan insentif pendidikan kepada enam pelajar yang berjaya melanjutkan pelajaran ke peringkat universiti. United States Continues Efforts To Strengthen Cooperation With Sarawak

KUCHING: United States Ambassador to Malaysia, Edgard D. Kagan paid a courtesy call on Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg in conjunction with his two-day working visit here. This third courtesy visit signifies ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the United States and the Sarawak government. Also present was Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki. According to Edgard, various collaborative initiatives were discussed, particularly in the areas of clean energy, hydrogen technology, as well as democracy and community development. "I am very impressed by the Sarawak Premier's deep knowledge of clean energy issues and his commitment to finding solutions for global energy challenges. “Sarawak has significant potential to be a base for our investments, focusing on sectors such as offshore gas and aerospace," he said when met by reporters after the courtesy call at the Sarawak Premier's office in Menara Pelita here, on Thursday. Edgard added that the main purpose of his visit to Sarawak was in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the Sarawak State Library which was established with the support of American leaders. TERENGGANU: Skuad Bola Sepak Sarawak layak ke pusingan kedua selepas menumpaskan Perlis, 4-1, pada Rabu. Dalam aksi yang berlangsung di Padang A, Kompleks Sukan Negeri Terengganu, Sarawak mendahului gol menerusi Muhammad Muzakkir Arif Saini. Perlis berjaya menyamakan kedudukan sebelum babak pertama tamat. Perlawanan tampak kurang seimbang dengan serangan-serangan berbahaya yang dilancarkan Sarawak kerap menguji kekebalan pertahanan Perlis sebaik wisel babak kedua bermula. SUKSEM IX: Skuad Takraw Sarawak Mara Ke Suku Akhir

TERENGGANU: Skuad takraw Sarawak sekali lagi melakar kemenangan di Dewan Serbaguna Kompleks Sukan Universiti Malaysia Terengganu selepas menumpaskan pasukan Negeri Sembilan, pada Khamis. Kemenangan 2-1 itu mengesahkan tiket ke suku akhir untuk Sarawak yang dijadualkan berlangsung esok. Pada aksi pertama, Regu A Sarawak mudah menundukkan Negeri Sembilan 15-9 dan 15-11. Namun, nasib tidak menyebelahi Regu B apabila tumpas 11-15 dan 8-15. Kebangkitan Sarawak menyerlah setelah Regu C dengan bergaya mendapatkan kemenangan 15-4 dan 15-6. 古晋：美国驻马来西亚大使柯佳年（Edgard Kagan）在为期两天的工作访问期间，前往拜会砂总理拿督巴丁宜丹斯里阿邦佐哈里博士。 随着他第3次拜会砂总理，也标志着美国与砂拉越政府不断努力加强合作关系。 同时，砂政府秘书拿督阿玛莫哈末阿布巴卡也出席此次拜会活动。 柯佳年表示，在交流期间，双方讨论了各种合作举措，特别是在清洁能源、氢技术以及民主和社区发展领域方面。 “我对砂拉越总理对清洁能源议题的深刻了解以及他致力于为全球能源所面临的挑战寻找解决方案的承诺印象深刻。砂拉越有很大潜力成为我们投资的基地，尤其是海上天然气和航空航天等领域。” 他星期四前往拜会砂总理后，接受记者访问时，这么说。 柯佳年也补充说，他此次访问砂拉越的主要目的是参加砂拉越图书馆成立20周年纪念活动，而该图书馆是在美国领导人的支持下建立的。 他解释说，这是美国做出最成功的贡献之一。-UKAS刊

KUCHING: Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, welcomed the United States Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Edgard D. Kagan, for a courtesy call at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Thursday. The meeting marked an important step in strengthening ties between Sarawak and the United States.  Both leaders discussed a wide range of topics focused on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in trade, investment, and cultural exchange. Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah highlighted Sarawak’s economic potential and welcomed greater collaboration with the United States.  He pointed out that Sarawak, with its growing digital economy and rich natural resources, offers vast opportunities for US businesses and investors. Ambassador Kagan expressed interest in exploring ways the United States could support Sarawak's development goals, especially in sectors like technology, renewable energy, and education.  He also praised Sarawak’s efforts to drive sustainable development through its Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. Both officials agreed on the importance of fostering closer ties and encouraged more partnerships between US companies and Sarawak-based industries.  They also touched on cultural exchanges that could strengthen understanding and friendship between the people of Sarawak and the United States. 古晋：人工智能（AI）和数据现在被视为实现砂拉越在2030年后冠病发展策略（PCDS）中概述的愿景之催化剂。 砂拉越公用事业及通讯部长拿督斯里朱莱希诺拉威表示，这两个要素的结合可以帮助砂拉越政府确定当前需求，从而制定下一步行动的策略。 他也以人工智能和数据在实现将砂拉越能源领域现代化愿景中的作用为例，病表示两者都被用来重塑能源领域，彻底改变能源的生产、分配和消费。 “例如，人工智能将通过直接监测和控制电流来实现智能电网管理。通过整合可再生能源、储存系统和对能源需求的响应，人工智能将有助于平衡供需，并最大限度地利用可再生能源。” 他星期四在古晋婆罗洲会展中心（BCCK）举行的2024年砂拉越国际数字经济大会（IDECS24）上致词时，这么表示。 他说，人工智能算法可以分析来自能源系统，包括电网和可再生能源的大量数据，从而更有效地利用能源来减少碳排放。 也是2024年砂拉越国际数字经济大会负责部长的拿督斯里朱莱希诺拉威补充说，除了能源领域外，人工智能和数据也可以用来实现砂拉越政府在2030年成为食品出口区域的愿景。 “通过利用人工智能、物联网（IoT）和数据分析等最新数字技术，砂拉越可以加速向智能和精准农业转型的进程。这一转变不仅将提高我们的弄作物产量和生产力，还将提高生产效率和整体市场准入。当我们努力实现砂拉越的粮食安全议程时，这一进展是非常重要的。” 出席者包括砂拉越公用事业及通讯部副部长拿督里旺拉岗、砂资讯公司（SAINS）主席丹斯里拿督巴丁宜陈康南医生、砂拉越多媒体机构（SMA）总经理拿督张永亨博士及砂拉越公用事业及通讯部（MUTS）常务秘书拿督贾弗里利亚斯。-UKAS刊
