KUALA LUMPUR: The Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU) has been honoured with a special award in recognition of its enduring efforts to bridge the innovation and technology gap between East and West Malaysia.
The award was received by STIU Director, Superi Awang Said, during the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, as stated in a statement on Friday.
In conjunction with the MTE, STIU facilitated the participation of 11 agencies with 21 innovation projects, demonstrating Sarawak’s ongoing commitment to advancing innovation across various sectors.
These projects underscore the state government’s dedication to enhancing service delivery through creative problem-solving and technological advancements.
STIU has played a leading role in spearheading the Innovative and Creative Circle (ICC) initiative in Sarawak.
Through this programme, members of the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) are equipped with structured problem-solving methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the public sector.
Additionally, STIU actively facilitates the participation of SCS agencies in prestigious platforms such as the MTE and international quality conventions, allowing these agencies to benchmark against global best practices.
This exposure not only enhances knowledge-sharing but also strengthens professional networks, positioning the Sarawak Government as a frontrunner in public sector innovation.
In its statement, STIU reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a forward-thinking and innovative public sector, as reflected by the recognition received at MTE 2025.
With its strategic focus on building innovation capabilities, STIU continues to empower agencies to adopt cutting-edge solutions, driving Sarawak’s transformation agenda towards excellence and global competitiveness.
