KUCHING: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) successfully organised ICT Awareness Day 2024, part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aimed at enhancing ICT knowledge and raising awareness about key digital technologies and services.
The event, held as SAINS ICT Awareness Day 2024, saw the participation of 71 students from prominent institutions including Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, and i-CATS University College.
The event commenced with a warm welcome and introduction to SAINS by Dan Fadalini, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
This was followed by a series of insightful presentations from SAINS experts: Crystal Eleanor from Cybersecurity and Management Services (CSM), Mohd Zul Hafiq from Data Science Solutions (DSS), Ivan Kho from Software & Digital Solutions (SDS), and Jacqueline Chong Kian Ling from Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Each speaker offered valuable knowledge and expertise in their respective fields.
Over the course of the two-hour programme, participants delved into a variety of engaging topics.
These included Cybersecurity Awareness, which provided practical tips on staying safe online, as well as an introduction to the AI-powered GPT Virtual Assistant ‘Dayang’, demonstrating how artificial intelligence is reshaping everyday interactions.
Additionally, participants explored the immersive technologies of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), gaining insights into their practical applications across different industries.
The session also covered Sarawak ID and Talikhidmat, highlighting the key benefits of these essential digital services and their impact on daily life.
To encourage active participation, the event featured quizzes designed to test attendees' knowledge and foster a sense of friendly competition. Participants eagerly vied for top scores and prizes, making the event not only informative but also engaging and fun.
The ICT Awareness Day 2024 concluded on a high note, with participants expressing satisfaction at the opportunity to learn from industry experts and connect with fellow students. The event provided attendees with valuable insights and renewed enthusiasm for the future of digital technology.-UKASnews
