KUCHING: The Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), under the leadership of CEO Datuk Ismawi Ismuni, recently held a Stakeholders’ Engagement Session and conducted site visits at Kampung Trusan Tengah, Lawas, as part of the Santuni MADANI programme.

This initiative is designed to foster closer ties with local communities and address their development needs while reviewing the progress of ongoing projects in the region.

The session highlighted the importance of community involvement in shaping the socio-economic landscape of rural areas.

“Through initiatives like Santuni MADANI, we aim to not only address the immediate concerns of the communities but also create long-term solutions that contribute to the overall development of the area,” Datuk Ismawi reiterated.

It provided a platform for open dialogue between RECODA, local leaders, and residents to discuss the challenges they face and to explore solutions for improving the quality of life in their village.

The site visits, which included the Dewan Masyarakat, Futsal Court, and Kampung Trusan Tengah Mosque, aimed to assess the condition of these key facilities and ensure that they meet the needs of the community.

The Santuni MADANI programme, coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Department’s Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), is a proactive initiative aimed at enhancing the potential of rural villages and empowering local communities.

By conducting direct site visits and engagement sessions, the programme seeks to identify pressing socio-economic issues and craft tailored solutions that address the unique needs of each community.

This engagement reflects RECODA’s broader efforts to ensure that rural communities are not left behind as Sarawak continues its journey toward sustainable development and inclusive growth.

Prominent figures attending the session included Lawas MP Dato Henry Sum Agong, NRDA Regional Director Datu Ubaidillah Abdul Latip, Temenggung Rosli Majid, Pemanca Hassan Pilus, and Penghulu Awangku Sapiudin Pengiran Draup.

They were joined by representatives from the Limbang Resident’s Office, Lawas District Office, Lawas District Council, Trusan Sub-District Office, as well as village heads from Kampung Trusan Tengah and Kampung Masjid.-UKASnews
