Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi And Wife Attend Prime Forum On Islamic Affairs

KUCHING: The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended the Prime Forum on Islamic Affairs held at the Sarawak State Mosque on Thursday.

The Prime Forum on Islamic Affairs, themed 'Stand Equally High, Sit Equally Low', discussed issues related to Islamic education in Malaysia. 

It was organised by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) in conjunction with the 60th National Conference of the National Committee for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI).

More than 1,000 Muslims from across Sarawak attended the hour-long forum, which was broadcast live on TV1 of Radio Television Malaysia (RTM).

The forum featured Ustaz Hariri Daud from JAKIM as the moderator, along with three panelists: the State Mufti of Sarawak, Datu Kipli Yassin; the Chairman of Yayasan Guru Malaysia Berhad (YGMB), Tan Sri Dato Alimuddin Mohd Dom; and an associate professor at the Centre for Shariah Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Associate Professor Dato' Dr Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim.

Also present were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Dr Zulkifli Hassan, Director-General of JAKIM Datin Paduka Hakimah Mohd Yussoff, the Sarawak Islamic Council President Datuk Misnu Taha, and the Director of the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department Sahibus Siyadah Mual Suaud.  -UKASnews
