SELANGAU: A total of RM195,000 in Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) Grants was distributed to 19 recipients in the Tamin area.

Tamin Assemblyman, Ir Christopher Gira Sambang, said that the recipients included 16 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) around Selangau, the Selangau branch of SIDS, the Munggu Lalang Volunteer Firefighters Association, and the Agro Sarawak Welfare Club.

The RTP Grant presentation ceremony was personally conducted by the Tamin Assemblyman at Rumah Tuai Rumah Nicholas Ngerembang Ngelambong on Saturday.

In his speech, the assemblyman expressed his hope that the allocation would be used wisely for the needs of JKKK activities, longhouses, associations, and their clubs.

“The Sarawak State Government under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is truly committed to improving the living standards of the people in this state from time to time,” he said.

He said this during the Opening Ceremony of JKKK Terabai Sekuau on Saturday before handing over the RTP grants.

Christopher hopes that the public will continue to place their trust in the GPS-led government so that the agenda and efforts to upgrade rural life can be carried on as planned.

“All recipients should make the best use of this assistance for the overall development of the local community,” he added.

Also present were his wife Anita Anthony Ijan, Penghulu Ngalai, Penghulu Bansa, Penghulu Thomas Jawa, Penghulu Julia, Penghulu Christopher Chat, Penghulu Busang, Tuai Houses leaders, and local residents from the Selangau area. -UKASnews
