Helicopter Tragedy: SUKMA & Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 Delegation Conveys Condolences

PERAK: The Sarawak government, through the delegation of the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) and Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024, also mourns the tragedy of two helicopters colliding in the airspace and crashed at the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) Lumut Base, here last Tuesday.

Sarawak Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu had the opportunity to offer condolences to all the families of the victims involved in the incident while leading the courtesy visit of the SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 delegation to the Operations Room of the Perak State Secretary's Office here, on Wednesday.

He stated that the incident was deeply felt as it involved a Sarawakian who also perished while performing duties for the country.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Perak Committee on Education, Higher Education, Youth, and Sports, Khairudin Abu Hanipah, in his opening remarks while representing the Perak Chief Minister, said that the Perak government is also prepared to send their athletes and officials to the SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 event.

He mentioned that the Perak contingent aims to win more gold medals and ultimately clinching the championship this year.

Wrapping up the courtesy visit of the Sarawak delegation for the northern zone was the presentation of the invitation letter for SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 as well as the exchange of souvenirs between the Sarawak government and the Perak government.

Also present were Sarawak Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Rosey Yunus, Deputy Permanent Secretary to the Sarawak Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dolhadi Mazuki, and Deputy Permanent Secretary to the Sarawak Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Nur Alina Abdullah Colliner Gohe. -UKASnews
