KUCHING: A press conference to announce the decision of the change of name of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) will be held before the next DUN sitting begins in May.
Sarawak DUN Speaker, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar stated that he will not make any statements regarding this issue until the press conference is held.
He said this when met by reporters at the PETRONAS Hari Raya Open House at the Hilton Hotel, here, on Wednesday.
During the event, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia also presented contributions from PETRONAS to 66 asnaf children of the Nur Murni Care Centre.
A contribution of ‘wakalah zakat’ (tithe) worth RM1,000 was also presented to 200 Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) students.
Also present were Sarawak Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, Executive Vice President and CEO of PETRONAS’ Upstream Business, Datuk Adif Zulkifli, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni) of UNIMAS, Professor Ir.
