PAHANG: The Pahang state government has expressed its full support to ensure the smooth running of the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) and the Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024.

Pahang State Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and Non-governmental Organisations Committee Chairman, Fadzli Mohamad Kamal said that the state government has committed to participate in 36 sporting events in the SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024.

He mentioned that Pahang will bring a large delegation involving 884 individuals, including athletes, coaches, and officials to the sporting event in August.

"For this SUKMA, Pahang is very serious about improving its position. We were once in ninth place, so we are making early preparations this time to improve that position.

"We see that the organisation is on the right track this time, and Pahang will strive to the fullest in Sarawak later.

"We also have close cooperation between the Pahang Sports Council and counterparts in Sarawak to ensure that this matter runs smoothly, as these nine localities need to be well managed in terms of both land and air transportation," he said.

He made these remarks when speaking to reporters after receiving a courtesy visit from the SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 delegation at his office on Wednesday.

Fadzli Mohamad Kamal, representing Pahang Menteri Besar, Dato Sri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, received a courtesy visit from the Sarawak government delegation led by Sarawak Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam and Sarawak Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat.
