KOTA SAMARAHAN: Transparency in enforcement agency actions is key to ensuring rural development can be carried out with integrity, free from misuse of power or corruption.
According to Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang, rural communities’ trust in government initiatives grows stronger when they witness consistent and transparent commitment from the agencies involved.
She added that this trust makes it easier for them to accept and support development projects.
The Kota Samarahan MP spoke during the Encouraging Responsibility, Accountability, Trustworthiness (ERAT) Program, held at the Kota Samarahan Farmers Organisation Hall on Saturday.
Datuk Rubiah further explained that the program, organised by the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC), promotes important values like integrity, accountability, and trustworthiness among enforcement officers, students, and the wider community.
She noted that initiatives like this not only help bridge the gap between enforcement agencies and the public but also make a lasting impact on rural communities.
“For rural communities, where interaction with authorities may be more limited, programs like this are essential to building trust in enforcement agencies.
“Good communication between enforcement agencies and rural communities through such programs provides a platform for people to voice their concerns and gain a clearer understanding of how decisions affect their lives,” she added.
Also present at the program were EAIC Chairman Tan Sri Dr. Ismail Bakar and Samarahan Division Resident Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang. -UKASnews
