BEKENU: The MyLesen (B2 Class) Driving License Assistance Programme was recently announced by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah to support the B40 group.

According to him, this programme aims to help Malaysians obtain motorcycle licenses at a reduced cost.

“The initiative allows participants to secure a B2 motorcycle license for only RM250, significantly lower than the market price of RM600 to RM700.

“The primary goal of the programme is to assist those from the B40 income group, helping them gain access to affordable driving licenses,” he said.

He said this during his speech at the Closing Ceremony of the MyLesen Class B2 Assistance Programme at Dewan Masyarakat Bekenu on Saturday.

He added that the MyLesen programme for the Sibuti constituency has involved 698 participants so far.

“It has been running from July 6 to September 8, 2024, and is the result of collaboration between various agencies, including the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarawak, the P.218 Sibuti Service Centre, HiSafe Driving Institute Sdn. Bhd. and Batu Niah Driving Institute Sdn. Bhd.”

Furthermore, the programme represents a significant step in providing support to low-income individuals, enabling them to enhance their mobility and job opportunities. -UKASnews
