SCSICA Recognises Creativity & Dedication Of Sarawak Civil Servants

KUCHING: The Sarawak Civil Service Innovation Convention Awards (SCSICA) 2024, the highlight of Sarawak’s Civil Service Innovation Month (SCSIMon), celebrated the exceptional creativity and dedication of civil servants from various agencies.


Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, noted that the participation of 36 agencies in implementing programmes such as workshops, training, sharing sessions, innovation competitions, and exhibitions reflects the success of this annual event.


“I was informed that the response has been very encouraging, and such initiatives have the potential to broaden civil servants’ understanding and appreciation of the importance of innovation.


“The Sustainability Award, introduced for the first time, aims to ensure that the ideas generated are preserved to support continuous improvement,” he said.


He said this during the SCSICA 2024 event, officiated by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg at Pullman Hotel on Friday.


A total of 12 categories were contested, showcasing outstanding efforts and innovations from 50 Innovative and Creative Groups (KIK).


Earlier, the Sarawak Premier presented the most prestigious Premier Innovation Award, where the Bistari Group from the Samarahan Division Land and Survey Department took home the grand prize of RM15,000.


The IPOK Group from the Mukah Division Resident’s Office was named the winner in the Resident and District Office category, while the Lengkang Wijaya Group from SMK Agama Miri led in the Federation category.


Both received cash prizes of RM5,000.


Also present at the event were Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Operation), Datu Hii Chang Kee, Sarawak Federal Secretary, Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan, and other guests. - UKASnews
