PULAU BRUIT: Community leaders are urged to be wise in managing each issue or problem that arises in their respective villages to meet the needs and interests of the people in a comprehensive manner.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol said, each community leader is responsible for the wellbeing and harmony of the local community.
Datuk Abdullah emphasised the crucial role of community leaders in listening to the problems, complaints as well as the needs of villagers, and to immediately report to the elected representatives or relevant government agencies to find effective solutions.
“With a diligent and proactive approach, I hope that the harmony and wellbeing of our local community can continue to be preserved and improved,” he said when speaking at the Semop Service Centre Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House 2024 held at Kampung Tekajong Community Hall here, on Saturday.
At the event, the Semop assemblyman took the opportunity to greet and spend time with the villagers who were present where they were also feted with various festive delicacies.
In addition, the event was enlivened by performances and lucky draws offering attractive prizes.
Also present were Pemanca of Daro District, Bujang Razeli, Penghulu of Kampung Tekajong, Suib Basnu, Penghulu of Kampung Bruit, Wahab Gelugo, Penghulu of Kampung Betanak, Azmi as well as local village chiefs. -UKASnews
