MIRI: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Complex in Miri, Sarawak, has been successfully completed on schedule at a cost of RM118.3 million and officially handed over to the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN).
The handover ceremony, overseen by Minister of Works Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, took place on Sunday at Kampung Pulau Melayu, Miri.
This complex, part of the government’s initiative to enhance security infrastructure in northern Sarawak, is designed to strengthen the capabilities and confidence of MMEA officers to improve protection in the region.
The facility, which includes 95 accommodation units, administrative and support buildings, a jetty, a prayer hall, and ample parking, was constructed using a design-and-build approach managed by Special Project Team 2 (PPK2) from the Public Works Department (JKR).
Furthermore, the Minister of Works expressed appreciation for the collaboration with KDN and urged the contractor to uphold their responsibilities during the defect liability period, which lasts until 2026.
JKR will continue to oversee the post-handover processes to ensure compliance with all regulations.
