BINTULU: The Sarawak government remains committed in providing complete infrastructure and facilities for all schools in the state.

Sarawak Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD), Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said that comprehensive infrastructure and facilities in schools can positively affect the quality of teaching and learning.

"It will also be able to produce students who are excellent in terms of studies and technological intelligence.

"This new generation is now smart in using technology that is constantly developing with new innovations, especially online materials or information that can now be reached at the fingertips," he said.

He said this while speaking to officiate the Covered Court and Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri event of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Batu Tellingai here, on Saturday.

The Kemena assemblyman added that complete infrastructure and facilities will also be prioritised in the field of agriculture.

"The way we farm now needs to keep pace with new technology so that crop productivity increases and can contribute to a sufficient food supply chain in addition to marketability.

"For example, we have Rural Growth Centres (RGCs) that focus on different crops in each zone or section such as in Padawan, where we develop premium coffee crops," he said.

During the same ceremony, Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi donated RM30,000 to the school's Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG).

Also present were Bintulu Division Resident, Nyurak Keti, Sarawak Department of Agriculture Director, Dominic Chunggat, Headmaster of SK Batu Tellingai, Jafri Idris and Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Collin Patan. -UKASnews
