KUCHING: The Unit For Other Religions (UNIFOR) in collaboration with the Sarawak Civil Service Digitisation Unit (SCSDU), Sarawak Premier's Department has held a Sarawak Digital Government Services Briefing Programme for the Southern Zone of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Divisions.
The programme was held at a leading hotel in Kuching officiated by Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau, Director of UNIFOR.
This programme was attended by 200 participants from houses of worship, religious organisations and community leaders from around Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Divisions who were also attended by Grace Huong Siew Hung, Director of SCSDU.
This programme was held as one of the activities to introduce the Other Religions Service Management System (ORSEM) which is an online system developed by UNIFOR to east access for UNIFOR services.
This programme was also held to introduce other government digital services such as scholarship applications, Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) and Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB) through a briefing session.
Other activities that were also held were Sarawak ID registration by the participants and Sarawak ID Corporate registration by the houses of worship and religious organisations present.
Dato Georgina in her speech suggested that houses of worship and religious organisations adopt digital technology in order to continue to remain relevant to the current situation and move forward in line with the Government's development agenda.-UKASnews
