Federal Civil Servants From Education & Social Sectors Pay Courtesy Call On Sarawak Governor

KUCHING: About 165 officers from 67 federal departments and agencies in the education and social sectors paid a courtesy call on the Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar in a special ceremony held at the Grand Hall of the Astana Negeri Sarawak, on Thursday.

According to Sarawak Federal Secretary, Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan, the courtesy call aimed to further strengthen the ties between the Federal Government and the Sarawak Government under the patronage of the Sarawak Governor.

“Our fellow officers are excited and honoured to receive advice and insights from Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi who has vast experience in various fields.

"The Sarawak Governor’s advice and views will serve as a valuable guide in delivering the best service to the people, the state, and the country,” he said this during the ceremony.

Also present during the ceremony was wife of the Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Among other attendees include Sarawak State Education Department Director, Datu Dr Azhar Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS), Dato' Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib, Assistant Vice Chancellor (Leadership and Development) of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Profesor Datu Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman, and other guests.

Dato Ahmad Nadzri also extended his congratulations on the Sarawak Governor’s appointment as the 4th Chancellor of UNIMAS and to Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah on being conferred the Datuk Patinggi Bintang Kenyalang (DP) award recently.

Meanwhile, Senior Private Secretary to the Governor of Sarawak, Dato' Sri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie said the ceremony aimed to ensure that all federal agencies had equal opportunity to pay a courtesy call on Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi by grouping the agencies according to sectors.

This was the third ceremony held as part of a series of courtesy calls from federal agencies to the Head of State.

For the record, the first ceremony took place on September 11, with 196 federal officers from 25 security sector agencies attending.

The second session was held on October 2, attended by 191 officers from 51 departments and agencies in the development and economic sectors. -UKASnews
