KUCHING: The Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri Madani 2024 is one of the platforms to strengthen bonds of brotherhood regardless of race or religion.

Deputy Prime Minister, Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof said, such programme is an opportunity for residents who come from various backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures to get to know each other.

"This is very much in accordance with our teachings that it is very important to bring brotherhood together by holding various programmes in addition to our responsibilities to each other.

"Also, this is a pillar of Sarawak's strength, especially to the extent that we are respected by the people in Peninsular Malaysia, even outsiders come to our state and they will see Sarawak differently compred to other states because they are able to live in harmony," he said.

He said this while speaking at the ceremony at Taman Alamanda Indah here on Saturday night.

The Petra Jaya Member of Parliament added that such unity needs to be fostered by the younger generation so that this culture remains in the future.

As such, he said Sarawak will continue to set an example whereas Kuching itself can become a city of unity in Malaysia.

A total of 200 guests from Taman Alamanda Indah were present to enliven the event that was jointly organised by the Taman Alamanda Indah Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), Taman Alamanda Indah Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT), and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Taman Alamanda Indah.
