KUCHING: Government agencies under the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) with good governance system are able to improve their effectiveness in managing available resources.

Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said SCS will continue to focus on inclusive development and ensure that all quarters of society benefit from this growth.

He explained that a good governance system enables SCS to achieve success not only in terms of economic performance but also in the wellbeing of the rakyat, the environment, and quality of life as a whole.

“In the public service, we want to ensure that our resource governance is always effective, both in managing natural and financial resources because it is critical in ensuring that the goals of the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 are realised.

"We need to foster the acceptance of innovation, encourage public-private partnerships, and empower our local communities to build an inclusive, resilient and sustainable future," he said.

He said this while speaking at the Sarawak Future Forum held here, on Thursday.

The opening ceremony of the forum was inaugurated by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
