Sarawak Premier Spends Time With Sarawak Students In Leeds

LEEDS: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg spent time with nearly 20 students from Sarawak here at a luncheon in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration on Saturday local time.

The students are from the University of Sheffield, University of Bristol, London Imperial College, University of Manchester, London School of Economics, Oxford University, and Leeds University.

Meanwhile, the Sarawak Premier encouraged students in Leeds to further their studies to the Master's level to contribute to Sarawak's development in the future.

He stated that they would be the future leaders eventually.

The Sarawak Premier arrived in Leeds on Friday to lead the state government delegation on a working visit to London and Poland until April 24.

During the luncheon, there was also a sharing session on the Central European Hydrogen Technology Forum to be held in Poland.

At the forum, the Sarawak Premier will participate in the 'Debate Regions For The Planet' session to share Sarawak's perspective on renewable energy transition and environmental sustainability.

Also present were the wife of the Sarawak Premier, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and wife Dato Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud, Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and wife Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning & Development) Datu Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Sarawak Premier's Political Secretary Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, as well as heads of departments and agencies.-UKASnews
