SIBU: The establishment of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Belia Wing initiated by the Party's President who is also the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg is described as a sincere and honest recognition from the party leadership of the importance of involvement the youth in the political arena as well as the progressive development of Sarawak.

PBB Supreme Council member and Deputy Minister in the Premier's Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol, described the involvement of youth in the political ecosystem as very relevant.

According to him, the youth now speaks up with a more competitive, creative and open mindset in determining the direction of development and the future of the state.

"Involvement and input from the youth group is very necessary because their way of thinking is increasingly progressive, innovative, and open to the future development of Sarawak," he said.

He said this when met by reporters after the PBB Belia Wing Launching  Ceremony by Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari here on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Datuk Abdullah also emphasised the importance of correcting the negative perception of some youth who consider politics as a futile endeavor.

He explained that the future leadership of Sarawak should consist of individuals who are patriotic, visionary, big-hearted, and have integrity.

"We want good people to join politics with a sincere intention to fight for the interests of Sarawak.

"Otherwise, people who are not authoritative will take over and weaken the future of the Sarawak nation," he stressed.

He hoped that this initiative will be able to attract more youth to join the political world and play an important role in the development of the state, thus ensuring a brighter and more progressive future for Sarawak. - UKASnews
