KUCHING: It is important for the youths of today to inculcate values of unity and inclusivity especially in Sarawak’s diverse society.

During the closing ceremony of the Jelajah Belia Rukun Negara, Sarawak Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said representation is crucial as it ensures that no group feels superior while others are overlooked.

Dato Sri Fatimah emphasised that citizens from all races and religions must be included, preventing any seeds of division from taking root in the younger generation.

“We always make sure that there is an element of inclusivity.

“Social inclusivity contributes to an environment where harmony prevails, allowing Sarawak to flourish without conflict,” she said.

She said this during her speech at the closing ceremony of the Jelajah Belia Rukun Negara programme at Penview Hotel Kuching on Sunday.

A total of 186 youths participated in the Rukun Negara Youth Tour for the Sarawak Zone, which took place over Saturday and Sunday (October 5 and 6).

This programme aims to improve the understanding and appreciation of Rukun Negara in the daily lives of young people.

Additionally, the initiative seeks to foster ideas, philosophies, and insights related to embracing Rukun Negara as a unifying force, particularly among the youth. -UKASnews
