SEBUYAU: The housing development project in the new Sebuyau town is set to begin this October.
This first phase of the project, expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2027, will involve the construction of 100 two-story houses, along with essential infrastructure such as roads and drainage systems.
To mark the beginning of this significant project, the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) held a thanksgiving ceremony officiated by Sarawak Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi.
Dato Sri Julaihi said that this housing project, approved by the Sarawak government under the People's Project initiative, is a key component in the development of the new Sebuyau town.
He added that a total of 235 two-story houses will be built over 41.28 acres of land, with the construction taking place in stages.
The housing project is set to provide local residents with the opportunity to own homes in the new town, which will be equipped with various infrastructure facilities such as a mosque, recreational areas, and other commercial developments.
Also present were LCDA General Manager, Datu Sri Zaidi Mahdi, Sarawak Lands and Survey Department Director, Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, LCDA Chief Executive Officer, Sri Hardi Fadillah Hamzah, and community leaders and village chiefs (KMKK). -UKASnews
