KUCHING: Chairman of the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Councillor Tan Kai refuted allegations that the council is neglecting Kampung Haji Baki Recreation Park.
Particularly, the council will coordinate with the locals for the maintenance and arrangement to remove deteriorated equipment at its children’s playground.
He added, there is no immediate plan to replace the equipment as the park will be affected by upcoming road upgrading projects.
“As such, MPP has no immediate plans to replace the dilapidated children’s playground equipment. Alternative recreational facilities will be considered after the completion of the projects.
“Nonetheless, MPP will coordinate with the local community of Kampung Haji Baki for maintenance and to arrange for the removal of the deteriorated children’s playground equipment,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
The MPP Chairman also stressed that the council has regularly undertaken maintenance tasks such as grass cutting for the parks under its jurisdiction.
“Other maintenance tasks include weeding, tree trimming, and replacement of faulty lighting when needed.
“The council has consistently and will continue to maintain all parks within its jurisdiction, including Kampung Haji Baki Recreation Park,” he explained. -UKASnews
