Wife Of Former Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Honoured For Advocacy Work

KUCHING: Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Empiang Jabu, wife of the former Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister, has been honoured for her pioneering advocacy in women’s rights and social welfare, especially in rural areas. 

A dedicated advocate, Tan Sri Empiang has spent her life working to uplift the underprivileged, focusing particularly on improving the lives of rural communities.

Her contributions were celebrated during the Life Begins at 50 Seniors Festival, which took place at Tropicana Gardens Mall, in Selangor on Friday. 

The festival, which features numerous events, including the Talent Quest Finals and the Walk-A-Breakfast-thon, reached a high point with the prestigious Timeless Inspiration Awards ceremony.

At the launch of the festival, five outstanding seniors were recognised for their lifetime achievements and contributions to society. 

Tan Sri Empiang was one of the honorees for her long-standing efforts to promote women’s rights and social welfare in Sarawak and beyond.

The other four award recipients were, Dato’ Abdul Rahim Mohd Razali (Rahim Razali) – a celebrated actor, screenwriter, and sports commentator, Datuk Marina Chin – a former national athlete and coach, Datin Linda Ngiam – a renowned philanthropist and Chairperson of Make-A-Wish Malaysia and Ramlah Md Jalee – a dedicated educator born with a congenital lower limb deficiency. -UKASnews
