Bowling: Sarawak’s Gold Rush Continues At Para SUKMA 2024

KUCHING: The second day of Para Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2024 for the para bowling event witnessed team Sarawak earning gold in 2 categories.

Those categories are Women’s Singles TPB4 and Open Doubles TPB9.

Nur Syazwani Marais secured her third overall gold medal since she started competing in Para SUKMA, this time in the Women’s Singles TPB4 category for para tenpin bowling.

"Today’s game went really well. I managed to catch up and build new momentum," she said.

Looking ahead to the mixed doubles event, she aims for another gold with her partner, Abg Yahya Abg Azhar, with whom she had previously won gold in Para SUKMA Kuala Lumpur.

Marcos Chang Hao Hong and Wong Kee Soon won gold medals in the Open Doubles TPB9 category for para tenpin bowling at Para SUKMA 2024.

Alongside Nur Syazwani, they secured three gold medals in total for today’s tenpin bowling event.

Their victories contributed to a strong showing for the team at the tournament.

Previously on Tuesday, which was the first day of para tenpin bowling for Para SUKMA 2024, Team Sarawak also won three gold medals, bringing their overall total for para bowling to six.

Also present were Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Assistant Chef de Mission (ACDM) for the Sarawak contingent’s tenpin bowling team Mohamad Duri and other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
