KUCHING: Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) has channelled funds up to RM111 million since its establishment in 2014 to support more than 300 Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the state.
Its chairman, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said, this amount of funding can still be increased to further expand support for economic development in Sarawak.
"Economic development in Sarawak is increasing rapidly. Of course many entrepreneurs will participate and of course they need support and capital financial strength and that is where PUNB will help.
Every entrepreneur in Sarawak who has potential and is qualified and if they participate in economic projects in Sarawak will feel able to compete more firmly with the support of PUNB," he said.
He said this to reporters after paying a courtesy call on the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg at his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Wednesday.
In the meantime, Tan Sri Acryl Sani also underlined that the financial support provided not only helps in terms of capital, but also in the form of guidance and training.
