KUCHING: The Occupation Permit (OP) for the Unit For Other Religions (UNIFOR) Complex is set to be issued this September.
Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas is confident the OP will be issued in September as the building’s construction progress has reached 99.37 per cent.
“We are very confident that the OP will be issued in September, with the final inspection will be made by the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).
"After that, the remaining process is to issue the OP. Therefore, we are very pleased with the building's progress,” he said.
He said this in a press conference following a visit to the UNIFOR Complex here, on Friday.
Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah who is also the Minister In Charge of UNIFOR added that the building is expected to be occupied by the first quarter of 2025.
“We will begin renovation work for the UNIFOR office as well as the office for the Sarawak UNIFOR Charitable Trust (SUCT),” he added.
He noted that the UNIFOR Complex symbolises Sarawak’s inclusive policies as outlined in the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
The complex will include a building featuring nine floors of offices and nine shop lots.
In addition, the UNIFOR Complex will house a hall with a capacity of 1,000 people and offer 256 parking spaces.
Also present during the visit was Chief Executive Officer of the Sarawak UNIFOR Charitable Trust (SUCT), John Kennedy Janang. -UKASnews
