LAWAS: The Sarawak government consistently uses the Madinah Charter as a reference and model to ensure excellent governance, particularly in societal development.
Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, stated that key elements such as social relations, economic stability, and harmony between different ethnicities and religions are the main focus of the state’s administration.
He highlighted that the teachings of Islam, brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), have provided guidance for a civilised way of life, thereby spreading the message of Islamic law.
This process, he noted, begins with the family institution, companionship, and racial unity, ultimately establishing Islam as an administrative system in Islamic nations of that time.
He made these remarks while officiating the Maulidur Rasul Celebration for the Lawas District on Monday.
Additionally, the Sarawak Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development II took the opportunity to reflect on Malaysia Day and this year’s Independence Month celebrations.
He urged that the current peace and prosperity be preserved for the well-being of future generations.
A total of 41 contingents participated in this year’s Lawas District Maulidur Rasul parade, with the 2024 Maulidur Rasul Award for men presented to Awang Ibrahim Ahmad, and for women, awarded to Suriyah Jinin. -UKASnews
