KUCHING: Sarawak Pavilion will make a strong return at IMEX Frankfurt, Germany, from May 14 to 16, 2024.
The trade show presents a strong opportunity to attract international corporate meetings and incentives market by showcasing the state’s culture, adventure, nature, food, and festivals.
Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP), Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said that IMEX Frankfurt is a prominent trade show that can promote Sarawak as a business events destination and make the state recognisable and identifiable to the world.
“The talking point at IMEX this year is ‘Impact’, with a mission of gathering the global business events community to do business and drive solutions on issues challenging the people and planet.
“Sarawak shares a similar mission and therefore, the Sarawak Pavilion is themed ‘Business Events Support Community Development’, celebrating the industry’s priority on leading social and economic change through business events,” he said.
He said this during the IMEX Frankfurt 2024 Press Conference at Baitulmakmur II here, on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dato Sri Abdul Karim also mentioned that seven co-exhibitors will be joining the Sarawak Pavilion, which are Borneo Adventure, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Cat City Holidays, Hemisphere Hospitality, Place Borneo, Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel and Pullman Kuching Hotel.
“We are also partnering with local micro, small and medium enterprises and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to showcase local products that the world can enjoy and perhaps invest in the future. This is the time for Sarawak to be recognised and identified as a true competitor in the global market,” he added.
Also present at the press conference were MTCP Deputy Minister, Datuk Snowdan Lawan and MTCP Permanent Secretary, Datu Sherrina Hussaini. -UKASnews
