KUCHING: The Sarawak Premier's Industry Excellence Awards (PSIEA) 2025 aims to help local companies in the state to reach the global market.
Sarawak Regional Director of the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Dr Mazlina Shafi’i, said that MPC is always seeking new and effective ways to support both public and private sectors in improving their efficiency.
She said that past editions of the PSIEA have helped improve the quality and competitiveness of organisations in Sarawak, which has had a positive effect on the country’s economy.
"Since the awards started, 94 organisations of different sizes from the manufacturing and services sectors have taken part, creating an estimated value of RM188 million.
"We are aiming for more than 50 local companies to join PSIEA 2025, and we welcome the participation of larger companies, as most past participants have been small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)," she said during a press conference on Tuesday.
Dr Mazlina encouraged organisations that have not yet adopted Business Excellence (BE) practices to think about starting this initiative.
She explained that the BE initiative is broad, focusing on leadership, infrastructure, empowerment, and digital integration.
PSIEA has been held every two years since 2017, in partnership with the Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) and the Sarawak Government.-UKASnews
