SEBUYAU: The Jalinan Insan Wahana Aspirasi (JIWA) Madani community programme plays a key role in disseminating information about the government's policies, efforts, and initiatives for the well-being of the community.
Sarawak's Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, said JIWA serves as an important platform to give the public a deeper understanding of various development programmes that have been planned.
These include job opportunities, social assistance, and other initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life, especially in rural areas.
He made these remarks while speaking at the JIWA Komuniti MADANI Programme at the Rural Transformation Centre (RTC) in Kampung Sampat Sebangan on Sunday.
In the same speech, the Sebuyau State Assemblyman encouraged the public to participate in the 'One House One Jalur Gemilang' (1R1JG) campaign as a show of unity and national pride.
He mentioned that this initiative would further promote the practice of flying the 'Jalur Gemilang' flag in celebration of Malaysia Day.
During the event, Dato Sri Julaihi also presented prizes to winners of the cooking and fishing competitions, followed by a flag-raising ceremony with the local residents.
The JIWA Komuniti Madani programme, organised by the Simunjan Information Department (JAPEN) and the Komuniti Madani of Kampung Sampat Sebangan, was attended by Sarawak JAPEN Director Helmy Hamid, Sebuyau District Officer representative Tahir Putih, Head of Komuniti Madani Kampung Sampat Sebangan Osman Jamel, Iban Community Leader Penghulu Merum Babu, and Village Chief Martasan Bujang. -UKASnews
