JERIJIH: The government has approved an allocation of RM20 million for the Village Expansion Scheme (SPK) project in Jerijih.

Sarawak Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh said, this long-delayed project will be reviewed with specifications and improvements for each lot to be developed.

Among the improvements to be made is the rebuilding of walls of the lots as well as the provision of basic facilities such as paved roads, electricity, and water supply.

For this SPK Jerijih, he said a total of 232 new lots will be developed for the residents of Kampung Jerijih who have applied.

Datuk Len said this while speaking at the Riang Ria Aidilfitri programme with residents of Kampung Jerijih at its Community Hall here, on Monday.

Also present was Tanjong Manis Member of Parliament Ir Yusuf Abd Wahab.

Meanwhile, the Kuala Rajang Assemblyman will determine a new site for the Kampung Jerijih New Hall project so that it can be implemented immediately.

This comes as the previously proposed site was not approved by the Sarawak Land and Survey Department. -UKASnews
