Bintangor National Day Colouring Contest Fosters Patriotism Among Children

BINTANGOR: The Children's Colouring Contest organised by the Women and Youth Wings of SUPP Bintangor Branch in celebration of National Day 2024 was a success.

This year, the colouring contest saw an impressive participation of 351 children, divided into three categories: the first category with 80 participants, the second with 125, and the third with 146 participants.

In his speech, Meradong Assemblyman, Datuk Ding stated that the contest not only provides an opportunity for children to showcase their talents and creativity, but also plays a key role in fostering patriotic spirit in conjunction with National Day celebrations.

He emphasised that every year, people from all backgrounds, races, and religions come together for the same purpose which is to ignite the patriotic spirit.

Furthermore, he expressed hope that this contest would instil a love for the country in the younger generation.

The first-place winners in each category received cash prizes of RM 200, second place winners received RM 100, third place winners received RM 50, and those placed fourth to tenth received RM 20 each.

All participants were also given gifts to mark the National Day 2024 celebrations.

The event was attended by Meradong Assemblyman and Chairman of SUPP Bintangor Branch, Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, Representative of Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Member of Parliament for Sarikei, and Assemblyman for Repok, Gung Chiu Kion, Representative of the Meradong District Officer, AO Ting Kai Siang, Chief Police Officer of Meradong, DSP Sekam Anoi, Representative of the Meradong District Education Office, Mahathir Mahdini, Head of the Women's Wing of SUPP Bintangor Branch and Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Cr Chieng Ming Kiong, Head of the Youth Wing of SUPP Bintangor Branch, Ley Chee Hua, and Pemanca Yii Hee Sieng. -UKASnews
