MUDeNR KIK Convention & Integrity Day 2024 Celebrates Innovation

KUCHING: The 2024 Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR) Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) Convention and Integrity Day took place over three days from 27-29 August with the theme "Integrity and Innovation: Pillars of Prosperity.”

Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan highlighted the increasing participation of KIK Groups in the KIK MUDeNR convention, noting that the projects presented have been implemented with significant positive impact.

"In a rapidly evolving world, cultivating creativity within the public service is essential, as it has become a key trend in today’s competitive landscape.

"This Creativity and Innovation Convention, as usual, paves the way for the prestigious Sarawak Civil Service Innovation Convention Awards (SCSiCA) Awards for 2024," he said during the Dinner and Award Presentation Ceremony of the convention held at the Imperial Hotel, here on Thursday.

A total of twenty-six KIK Groups participated, representing the MUDeNR, Land and Survey Department Sarawak, Forest Department Sarawak, Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC), and Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA).

First Place was claimed by Accurate, who earned RM2500, a trophy, and certificates.

Second Place went to Urban+, who received RM2000, a trophy, and certificates.

Third Place was awarded to Restro Revo, with a prize of RM1500, a trophy, and certificates.

The Potential Team Award consisting of Origin, Bistari, Conserva Tech, Macrophylla, E-vengers, Geosync, and Baza, each receiving RM500 and a certificate.

The Best Montage Award was given to Infiniti Tri-D, who received RM600 and a certificate.

The Best Performance Award was presented to Sassoku Tech, who also took home RM600 and a certificate.
Meanwhile, the ceremony also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Talent/Workforce Development in the Sarawak Mineral Industry between MUDeNR and the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS).

The MOU aims to foster collaboration in strategic human resource development, enhance training programmes and materials, and boost Research and Development (R&D) to add value across the entire mineral-based industry chain.

Also present were Permanent Secretary of MUDeNR, Datu Abdullah Julaihi, Director of the Forest Department Sarawak, Datu Hamden Mohammad, CEO of CENTEXS, Dato Syeed Mohd Hussien Wan Abdul Rahman, Director of Lands and Surveys Sarawak, Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, Environmental Quality Controller at NREB, Jack Liam, CEO of SFC, Abang Arabi Abang Aimran, General Manager of STIDC, Zainal Abidin Abdullah, and other honoured guests.-UKASnews
