Ethnic Harmony, Political Stability in Sarawak Comes Naturally

KUCHING: The ethnic harmony and political stability in Sarawak are the core of unity that comes naturally.

Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said that the harmony resulting from the unity among the Sarawakians is a special privilege for the Land of the Hornbills.

"To achieve this, we must have political stability, and ethnic diversity living in harmony regardless of race and religion in Sarawak.

"We are proud and grateful because the people in this state can live in harmony, tolerate, and respect each other," he said.

He said this during the 2024 Hari Raya Open House of the State Legislative Assembly and Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia's at DUN, Petra Jaya, on Sunday.

The event was also enlivened by the presence of the Governor of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Also present at the event were Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang.

The event was also attended by Sarawak Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Prof. Dr Sim Kui Hian, Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Sarawak Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Sarawak Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Sarawak Minister in the Premier's Department Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai, Sarawak Deputy Ministers in the Premier's Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Deputy Ministers, and Members of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly. -UKASnews
