KUCHING: The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Sarawak Branch paid a courtesy visit to the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Thursday.

The MMA Sarawak delegation was led by the President Elect of MMA, Dato Dr Kalwinder Singh Khaira.

Speaking to reporters after the visit, Dato Dr Kalwinder announced that the MMA's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and National Scientific Conference would be held at the Riverside Majestic Hotel Kuching from September 5 to 7.

"We have invited the Sarawak Premier to be the guest of honour at the conference.

"I will be taking over as the President of MMA during the AGM,”he said.

He added that the conference is expected to receive a warm response from doctors across the country.

"We anticipate that around 300 to 400, or possibly more, delegates will attend the event in Kuching,”he added.

Also present during the courtesy visit were Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, along with other MMA Sarawak members. -UKASnews
