KUCHING: The upcoming Sarawak Cabinet meeting tomorrow will deliberate on the incentives distribution for Sarawak medallists in team events at the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA 2024).
Sarawak Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the incentives have not been finalised.
“Traditionally, each team member would receive an incentive similar to that of individual athletes, but this might change.
“We will discuss this in the Cabinet meeting tomorrow, and I will ensure the matter is thoroughly deliberated,” he said.
He said this when met by reporters after the medal distribution for the squash men’s doubles and women’s doubles events at the Sarawak Squash Centre on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, he said that Sarawak is on track to achieve its target of 70 gold medals, with 51 already secured as of 4 p.m. today, bolstering its chances of becoming the overall champion. -UKASnews
