Clean Sweep For Sarawak In Second Day Of Aquatic Diving

KUCHING: The Sarawak contingent ended the second day of aquatic diving events in spectacular fashion after sweeping all the gold medals on Tuesday.
 
The first gold was secured by the sibling duo of Awang Sharzan Nasrin Awang Nasaruddin and Dayang Nursharzyra Awang Nasaruddin in the mixed synchronised 3-metre (m) springboard event.
 
Their remarkable performance earned them the highest score of 227.13 points, significantly outscoring their competitors from the Federal Territories, Celeste Qin Lee and Jin Wei Choo who took silver with 209.04 points.
 
Meanwhile, the bronze medal was claimed by the Terengganu pairing of Muhamad Haziq Muizzudin Mohd Asri and Uzlifatil Jannah Ashraf with a score of 201.81 points.
 
Dayang Nursharzyra further delighted the Sarawak supporters by dominating the women's 1m springboard event, amassing a total of 232.1 points to defeat Terengganu's Uzlifatil who scored 186.60 points, and Hui Xue Teng from the Federal Territories who took home the bronze medal with 171.95 points.
 
The Sarawak team then secured yet another gold in the final event of the day which is the men's synchronised 10m platform.
 
The pair of Elvis Priestley Clement and Enrique Maccartney Harold proved to be unbeatable, leaving other state contingents far behind with a score of 384.72 points.
 
The silver medal went to Sabah’s Julfaddli Jali and Muhammad Anilrian Normatr Abdullah with 282.12 points, while the Federal Territories duo of Donald Da Win Chen and Jin Wei Choo collected 271.53 points to clinch the bronze. -UKASnews
