KUCHING: Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian, tops the list of 149 recipients of the Sarawak State Honours awarded by Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Ja’afar, in a ceremony steeped in tradition at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Thursday.

The Sarawak Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government was the sole recipient of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang (D.A.), which carries the title 'Datuk Amar.'

The next honour, the Darjah Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (P.S.B.S.), was conferred upon Temenggong Dato Nunong Dundan, granting him the title 'Dato.' Meanwhile, the Chief Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier and Tupong Assemblyman, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, was awarded the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (J.B.K.).

Additionally, nine individuals were conferred the Darjah Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S.), including Bukit Semuja Assemblyman, John Ilus, Brigadier General Mohd Rosli Abu Bakar, Professor Dr David Perera, Abu Seman Suhaili, Annie Chiew Yen Moi, Bong Ngim Sin, Haidel Heli, Chai Ming Lu, and Sikong Lusek.

In the same ceremony, 23 individuals were awarded the Darjah Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K.), 19 received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B.), 21 were conferred the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S.), 18 received the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K.), 29 were awarded the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T.), and 27 received the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S.). -UKASnews
