SARIKEI: The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, in collaboration with the Sarikei Division Resident's Office, organised the Alam Kita Carnival 2024 at Dewan Sentral Sarikei on Saturday.

A total of 500 participants of various ages and ethnicities took part in the programme.

In line with the event's objectives, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Dato' Sri Huang Tiong Sii, also joined in the Briskwalk Lestari, a 1.2 km walk around Sarikei Town.

The one-day programme featured a variety of activities, including Green Job Screening, E-Waste Management, a Blowpipe Carnival Sports competition, aerobics, Briskwalk Lestari, sales and exhibition booths from various government and private agencies, a petting zoo, and a lucky draw.

All activities were designed to attract students from schools in Sarikei Town.

Also present at the morning event were the Secretary General of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Ching Thoo Kim, Sarikei Division Resident, Micheal Ronnie Langgong,  Sarikei Division Deputy Resident, Badjuri Bidin and other honoured guests.  -UKASnews
