KUCHING: The Aidilfitri open house event hosted by the Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi was lively at the Astana Negeri Sarawak here on Wednesday.
The visitors encountered were very excited and did not want to miss the opportunity to meet Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah.
The excitement of the open house was further heightened by the presence of Sarawak's Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani Tuanku Bujang.
Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan also received visits from cabinet ministers, members of parliament and state assembly members, heads of government departments, as well as other prominent figures, representatives from the private sector, and the public.
Among those present were Deputy Premiers of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and Datuk Amar Prof. Dr Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Prime Minister Dato' Sri Fadillah Yusof, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato' Sri Nancy Shukri, Minister of Works Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dato' Sri Tiong King Sing, and other distinguished guests.
The open house was held at the grand hall of the Astana Negeri Sarawak from 9 am to 4.30 pm.
The guests were also served with various Raya dishes and assorted desserts.
Later, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah visited the Premier of Sarawak's Aidilfitri open house in the afternoon at the Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK).
