KUCHING: Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, performed the Aidilfitri prayers at the Sarawak State Mosque, Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak, here today.
Accompanying him, and arriving at 7:52 am, was the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
The Aidilfitri prayers were led by the Grand Imam of Sarawak, Sahibul Fadhilah Dato Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi, alongside more than 5,000 Muslims.
Following the Aidilfitri prayers, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi is scheduled to host the 2024 Aidilfitri Open House at the Astana Negeri Sarawak from 9 am to 4:30 pm on the first day of Syawal.
Meanwhile, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari will be hosting the 2024 Eid al-Fitr Open House at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from 10:30 am to 3 pm on the first day of Hari Raya, and from 10 am to 2 pm on the second day.
Also present to grace the Syawal morning were the Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, Sarawak's Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, the Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, and other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
