KUCHING: The undivided unity, harmony and loyalty of the people in this state are crucial in the effort to transform Sarawak into a progressive and prosperous region.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that these factors will support the efforts of Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg to shape the transformation of the state.
"He has done many things that are believed to be able to bring Sarawak to a higher level in the future.
"One of them is the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 which is an important plan and programme in his strategy to transform Sarawak into a high-income region by 2030," he said in his Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2024 message on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said, the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration transcends religious and ethnic boundaries, fostering social cohesion and harmony among all levels of society in Sarawak.
"This is a time for us regardless of race and religion, to bond with each other and celebrate friendship and solidarity.
"Like other major festivals such the Chinese New Year, Gawai Dayak or Christmas, let us continue the practice of visiting open houses on this Hari Raya.
"We believe this practice can further enhance and strengthen our harmony, unity and the sense of belonging in developing Sarawak," he added. -UKASnews
