KUCHING: Civil servants in the state must maintain high levels of integrity and discipline while performing their responsibilities.

Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian said every officer and public servant must carry out their duties with trustworthiness, free from any elements of corruption.

He emphasised that issues of power abuse and corruption should not be taken lightly, as they involve integrity.

Datuk Amar Dr Sim said this while officiating the Integrity Day of the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak (MPHLG), themed ‘Good Governance Aspiration of Bumi Kenyalang’ at Wisma SABATI here, on Wednesday.

Furthermore, the Sarawak Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government mentioned that his ministry is responsible for supervising and monitoring three main agencies, namely the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), the Sarawak Sewerage Services Department (SSD), and the Sarawak Housing Development Corporation (HDC), as well as 26 Local Authorities (PBT) across the state.

He explained that every department, agency, and local authority under his ministry plays a role in implementing various development projects for the people.

Also present were MPHLG Deputy Ministers, Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil and Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, and MPHLG Permanent Secretary, Elizabeth Loh. -UKASnews
