BINTULU: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg revealed the final design of the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) which is expected to be a modern public transport system in Sarawak.

According to him, the ART which uses hydrogen will transform the public transport system in the state with its start in Kuching. 

"On this occasion I would also like to inform on the final livery design of ART which will be a modern public transport system in Kuching. 

"Several designs have been proposed by the Sarawak Ministry of Transport (MOTS) and Sarawak Metro but only one was chosen to reflect the aspirations and strength of Sarawak,”he said. 

He said this during the Sarawak Day 2024 Assembly at Bintulu Old Airport Site on Monday. 

Meanwhile, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari added that the ART system will also be implemented in Bintulu later. 

"At this point, Sarawak Metro is working diligently to provide special tracks, stop stations and depots for the ART in Kuching and Kota Samarahan.

"Like I said earlier, this ART system will be expanded, covering Bintulu straight to Kidurong and Samalaju," he added. -UKASnews
